Pregnancy comes with all kinds of weird symptoms, pains, cravings. Here are some of my favorite products that got me through my pregnancy nausea and helped me in general be more comfortable.
Products to Fight Pregnancy Nausea
Pregnancy nausea has an extra layer of fun (sense the sarcasm 😜). You’re probably not telling everyone you’re pregnant quite yet, so you’re trying to keep everything down and not give the secret away. Here are some things I used to help combat the nausea.
Gin Gins Ginger Chews – I will pre-warn you, these are strong. My husband and I have eaten these for years if we have an upset stomach or feel under the weather a bit but I used them often during my pregnancy to combat nausea. You can buy them from Amazon HERE.
Tums – Need I say more… My baby has lots of hair so I was blessed with lots of heartburn. The Smoothie Berry Fusion ones are my personal fav.
Sea-Band Acupressure Bands – These are stretchy bands with a little nub that puts pressure on specific point on your wrist. Just follow the instructions that come in the pack. Both my sister and I used these during our pregnancies and loved them. These are great for any situation where you might get nauseous whether you’re pregnant or not.
Ice Cold Ginger Ale – Take a glass of ice and pour ginger ale over it. For some reason the ice makes it a little less peppy and just the right temperature. It helped me kick my nausea to the curb on most days or at least make it bearable.
Peppermint Essential Oil – Smelling the peppermint oil can help ease your nausea. I avoided putting it on my skin since “Dr.” Google had mixed reviews on topical use. Talking to your doctor first would be a great idea.
Products for Comfort
Pregnancy nausea isn’t the only uncomfortable thing about being pregnant. Here are other products I used to help make my pregnancy more comfortable.
Pregnancy Belly Support Products
–Queen Rose U Shaped Pregnancy Pillow– Let 👏🏻 me 👏🏻 tell 👏🏻 you 👏🏻, having a good pregnancy pillow made my sleep SO MUCH better! I liked this one because I didn’t have to keep adjusting it according to what side I wanted to sleep on. It was very comfortable and versatile. Most of my third trimester I couldn’t sleep on my side without having excruciating pelvic pain, and since you’re not really supposed to sleep flat on your back, I had to sleep propped up. To make my “throne” as my husband and I liked to call it; I put two pillows stacked on top of each other where my head was supposed to go one pillow below that and my pregnancy pillow on top of all of that. Sleep
–Frida Mom Kinesiology Tape– This kinesiology tape was great during the first part of my third trimester. It really helped to support my belly and gave me some relief from my pelvic and back pain.
Maternity Clothes
I honestly miss my maternity wardrobe. Everything was so comfortable. I kept things pretty simple. I had a handful of dresses, a handful of jeans, and 20ish tops. Finding good maternity clothes can definitely be a challenge, but below I will link my favorites.
Amazon Maternity Clothes
This t-shirt dress was perfect! It was easy to dress up or down and was a staple. I even wore it to my baby shower.
This bow detail t-shirt dress was a little fancier than the regular t-shirt dress but still so comfy.
This ruffle sleeve t-shirt was what I wore to our gender reveal and so many other times. I purchased it in white, it did have a bit of a blue tinge to it so I bleached it and it was much better. It is SUPER comfy and I love the other color options they have available.
These thigh saver shorts from Kindred Braverly were perfect to wear under my dresses. They are so comfortable and stretchy. I liked that they helped everything look smooth.
Stitch Fix Maternity Clothes
If you haven’t tried Stitch Fix yet, now is the time! Their maternity clothes was my FAVORITE!!! If you’d like to give it a try, my referral code will give you and I both a $25 credit (this may change but $25 is the current amount at the time I’m writing this post). Win, win, win! THESE LEGGINGS by Thread 4 Thought were my all time favorite. I loved them so much that I asked my Stitch Fix stylist to send me a regular pair and I don’t regret it one bit. They are so buttery, soft, and look great on. They were probably my favorite thing in my entire wardrobe.
Market and Spruce is my favorite line of clothing I get through Stitch Fix. Their items are made really well and are very comfortable. Their maternity t-shirts are great and something I reached for my entire pregnancy.
1822 Denim over the belly jeans were the best jeans I had found. Unfortunately I can’t seem to find them on Stitch Fix right now. The exact pair I had is no longer available but maybe you could find them through ThredUp or on eBay?!? Here’s my referral code for ThredUp. At the time of this post you can get 45% off plus free shipping on your first order and I would get a credit on my account (I want to be completely transparent).
Pregnancy Keepsakes
Something I have loved having is a Polaroid camera. I took weekly bump photos, photos of my baby with visitors and nurses when she was born. Something about them is so fun!
The Instax Mini 11 is what I have because I found a really good deal on it, but below are a few other options as well.
Instax Mini 12 This is the newer version of the one I have.
Polaroid Originals Now I-Type This one is very retro.
Instax Square SQ1 I love how this one looks and that it is the old school style square photos. If I were to pick one today this would be the one I would choose.
Pregnancy Apps
I used Babylist for my public registry (I actually made multiple registries from other sites as well to save lots of money. I’m working on a post all about that.) I chose it because you can link from any website. It was nice to not have to be strapped down to one place. Babylist also has tons of helpful in-depth reviews of baby products. They really helped me make a lot of decisions on what items to ask for on my registry.
To track my pregnancy I used The Bump app. It tells you all about your baby and your body each week. It was full of information about both the baby and I. Every week, we looked forward to seeing what new things our baby was developing and how big they were. I’m not sure if I just had a very by the book pregnancy, but each week the app tells you what symptoms you might start having and sure enough I would start having those symptoms.
